Google Docs and Sheets are powerful tools that I use to manage show notes and other important information such as cue lists. The Google workspace also allows for easy collaboration with other members of the production. However, the file manager within the google workspace is a nightmare to use at the moment. So I made Light World a simple web app. With this portal, I can easily store and organize all the data related to lighting. This includes information about the different fixtures I use, technical specifications of the space, and any notes or diagrams related to their placement.

I also use the portal to keep track of my lighting inventory, so I know exactly what equipment I have on hand and where it’s stored. This is especially useful when I’m Drafting and need to quickly access the list of equipment I have. The lighting data management portal has been a game-changer for me. It helps me stay organized and saves me a lot of time when it comes to lighting. With the fact it has a backbone of Google Docs and Sheets, I can easily share the data and notes with the team and collaborate in real time.
